Robert A Fraundorf

Bob Fraundorf, age 85, followed his beloved wife in death in a peaceful manner on Saturday morning, April 7th, 2018. Born July 8, 1932 in Santa Barbara, California, Bob grew up in both California and Florida before attending the University of California, Santa Barbara, obtaining a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry in 1953. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve before starting a career in insurance in Southern California. It was while with Mutual of New York that he met the love of his life, Dorothy Marie Link, whom he married after a short courtship and would spend the next 47 years of his life. He and Dotty eventually settled in Boise, Idaho, and raised three children. They enjoyed the outdoors and camping but found their greatest joy with the Catholic Church and the Marriage Encounter movement. For more than 20 years Bob and Dotty would present at weekend retreats throughout the Pacific Northwest to couples looking to strengthen their sacrament of marriage through their relationship with God. There they made many lifelong friends that became like family to them. Dotty led him into death in 2007 and he struggled to make the most of his life without her. Bob leaves behind three children, Robert Samuel (MaryAnn) and Michael Paul Fraundorf and Debi (Joe) Kleffner. He also was blessed with seven grandchildren: Amanda, Zachary, Michala and Andrea Kleffner; and Connor, Juliana and Ansley Fraundorf and many extended family. Graveside burial service will be held at the Emmett Cemetery April 28 at 10:00 AM. The family will also greet visitors that day at the Kleffner residence (8097 S. Diego Way, Boise) from 1-4pm. He was fortunate to have dedicated and loving caregivers in his final days and his family is very grateful for the care and comfort the staffs at Grace Assisted Living-Englefield and Adobe Hospice Care provided him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities of Idaho in Bob’s name.
