James Michael Marosvari

James “Jim” Marosvari, 59, of Boise, passed away March 14, 2024. Jim was born on June 26,1964 in New Jersey, growing up just outside of New York City. Jim and his family moved to Boise in 1977. Jim spent his teenage years playing tennis, golf, wrestling and making friends with everyone he met.

He was an exceptional tennis player at Meridian High School prior to graduating in 1982. Jim spent his summers working at Cloverdale Nursery with his brother Paul and best friend Ralph. Jim attended Boise State University, graduating with a degree in Biology. Jim met his wife Kim in 1996 and they married in August of 1998. Jim was the proud dad of Allyson and Miles. He loved his family dearly.

Jim spent 20 years working at Micron Technology, several years with JST Manufacturing in Meridian, Idaho and most recently was employed by Lam  Research.

Jim loved animals, talking to anyone who would listen, telling jokes and he was quite the magician. Later in life, Jim spent many hours snorkeling the Boise River, finding watches, phones, diamond rings and anything else that floaters may have lost. He spent even more time finding the owners of these items. His success rate at reuniting people with their lost treasures was astonishing.

Jim was very active as a referee for high school wrestling throughout the state and the Pacific Northwest. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, flying kites and spending time with family and friends. He loved to play golf. Anyone who Jim met became his friend quickly. 

Jim is survived by his wife Kim, daughter Allyson and son Miles, his father Andras and stepmother Eva of Riggins, Idaho, brothers Andy, Paul and sisters Christine, Amy Kropp, Heidi Williams and Jessica Kessel as well as a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother Elaine Brenner, grandparents and his nephew Andras. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, from 5pm-7pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 N. Cloverdale Road, Boise, ID. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 22, at 5pm at Bridgepoint Church, 2530 S. Broadway Ave., Boise, ID. Donations in Jim’s memory may be directed to the Idaho Humane Society or the Humphries Diabetes Center at St. Luke’s.
