Gladys Peña Childers

Gladys Omedee Peña was born March 25, 1941 in Roma, Texas to Manuel and Isabella Peña. Gladys met and married her husband of 55 years, Lee R. Childers, on June 4, 1960. She peacefully passed away March 16, 2024 surrounded by family.
Gladys will forever be remembered as a strong and passionate woman. Her love for animals, art and reading will provide fond memories for her family and friends. She created beauty in her artwork that she wanted to share. She leaves behind a legacy and culture that will be carried on by her son, Lee Ray and daughter, Cynthia.
Gladys was blessed with seven grandchildren and an abundance of great grandchildren. Their well being was always of primary importance to her. She was incredibly proud of her family and shared her pride and love easily.
Gladys will be dearly missed, but her spirit will love on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to truly know and love her. May she rest in eternal peace.
A celebration of life will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home, the Garden Room, on Friday March 29, 2024 at 2 pm. We will have some of her amazing art on display and ask that you select one of her pieces to take with you in remembrance of her, her talent and her generosity.
