Earl Leon Arnold (89) of Placerville, Idaho died on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital in Meridian, Idaho.

Earl was born to William and Merle (Brookshire) Arnold on January 12th, 1928 in Kirk, Colorado.  The third child of eight 
children.  He moved to California at a young age with his family and then on to Idaho where he spent the remainder of his life.
He attended and graduated from Kuna High School in 1947 and was a champion boxer in his Senior Year.

On June 1, 1949, he married the love of his life Shirley Louise Smart in Winnemucca, Nevada.  They were married for 55 years
until Shirley passed away in 2004.  They raised two sons and one daughter.  Earl moved to Placerville, Idaho and resided there 
for several years and the last year of his life he was at Karcher Estates in Nampa.

Earl retired from the Kuna School District where he was employed as a custodian.  Various Jobs in his lifetime included, working in the mine in Atlanta Idaho, Shake mill in Grangeville, Idaho, Weatherby sawmill located on the Middle Fork of the Boise River, and Meridian Wood Products in Nampa, Idaho.

Rock hunting was his passion and favorite thing to do.  He enjoyed every minute he spent with his rock hound buddies.  He and his brother Doyle raised different breeds of chickens, pheasants, ducks, and birds for several years.  Earl could be found just sitting and enjoying his little dogs.  Every one of them was very special to him.  

Earl is survived by his children: Bruce (Karrie) Arnold of Placerville, ID, Robert (Donna) Arnold of Nampa, ID,  and Earlene Taylor of Middleton, Idaho.
A sister, Barbara (Terry) Owsley of Nampa, ID.  Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, two great, great granddaughters which were both born on his birthday one year apart.  Several cousins, nieces, and nephews.  One granddaughter is currently stationed in Korea.  One fur baby, Midnight.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, five brothers and one sister, a son-in-law and grandson. 

Graveside services to honor and remember Earl will be on Tuesday May 16, 2017, at 2PM in the Kuna Cemetery.
