Christine A. Young

Young, Christine Ann (Cornwell), age 62, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on Friday, September 15, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Reception to follow.

Christy was born in Caldwell, Idaho to Ralph and Lorene Cornwell on September 24, 1954. Christy and her family moved to Boise when she was a young girl where she attended Highlands Grade School, North Jr. High and graduated from Boise High School in 1972. She furthered her education and earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from ITT Technology Institute. Christy worked as an accountant for the Idaho Nurses Association for many years and later with Parks Royal Body Works, whose co-workers quickly became like family to her. Christy worked for Parks Royal Body Works for 14 years. Christy always had a very strong work ethic which was evident as she helped many with bookkeeping throughout her career.

Christy married her high school sweetheart, Robin Young, on June 14, 1974. In their 43 years of blissful marriage, Robin and Christy shared many hobbies and adventures together. Some of their fondest memories included vacations to Bend, OR, Moab, UT and many trips to the Oregon Coast. They also enjoyed taking walks in the foothills with their dogs. Christy became very involved in showing her Golden Retrievers in both obedience and confirmation. She received many high honors including 1 Golden Retriever Champion and 1 Golden Retriever Grand Champion titles. She was loved, admired and respected by her canine community.

Christy’s greatest joy in life was her family. Robin and Christy had a marriage few are lucky enough to share and she was the kind of mother every child wishes to have. Her love for her family was unconditional, honest, deep and selfless. She was the embodiment of love and care. Nothing made Christy happier in life than being a daughter, sister, wife, mother and eventually a grandmother. Christy doted on her grandsons whom brought her pure joy and happiness.

Christy is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lorene Cornwell. Christy is survived by her husband Robin Young; son, Erik Young (Laura); daughters Jody Young and Jamie Reininger (Chad); sister Cathy Curry (Mike); grandsons, Jesse Young and Callen Reininger.
