Betty L Smart

Betty Lou (Elsberry) Smart, 91, went home to meet Jesus and her beloved, that went before her, on May 9, 2017.
Our hearts are breaking that we can no longer share in her laughter, kindness and love.
Betty was born in Parma, Idaho on December 2, 1925, a daughter of Ernest William and Goldie (Artz) Elsberry. When Betty was 6 months old her Mother Goldie passed away. She was blessed with a wonderful second mother, Ella May (Jackson) Elsberry. She spent her childhood life mostly in Emmett. Betty graduated from Emmett High School.
She married the love of her life, Earl E. Smart in January of 1945. After his discharge from the Air Force, he worked for Morrison Knudsen and they traveled from job to job for the next 15 years. She enjoyed the gypsy life with Earl and their two children Tony and Edith.
In 1957 they moved to Boise and spent the next 46 years of her life working with Earl on their acreage. Betty loved her home life and her flowers. After Earl passed away, she moved to Idaho City and spent the remaining years loving the mountain quiet with her daughter Edith.
She was a wonderful person, who loved everyone, and always had a smile for everyone she met. She was a wonderful wife, mother and sister.
Betty is survived by her two children; Son, Tony (Linda) and Daughter, Edith; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, her 4 brothers and her sister.
